I thought you were a Lanegan fan for some reason,no? Yeah def check them
out.
Lanegan's solo stuff is even better. His first album 'The Winding Sheet'
is amazing. Very Leonard Cohen-ish(I know you like him!).

Yes I do, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Jacques Brel and Serge
Gainsbourg are my most favoritest singers/songwriters of all times.
I feel dumb that I don't know Lanegan then! :)
I will go look them up now.

He's from a 90's Seattle band 'The Screaming Trees'. Made a huge leap
with his first solo album though. Went the singer songwriter route and
has been continually amazing me ever since!
Check out the song 'Ugly Sunday' on youtube and let me know what you
think. One of my favs by him.
BTW I'm just recently seriously getting into Waits, any suggestions?

great song!
Kurt and Krist from Nirvana actually play on that track. I like
Nirvana's Unplugged version better. It's an old folk song they heard a
Leadbelly rendition of and decided to cover.
Lanegan's entire 'Winding Sheet' album is perfect. Did you check out
'Ugly Sunday'? I think thats my favorite song by him.
I like him because all of this is such a huge leap from the band he
got famous with. He's just all sorts of great IMO! :P

I heard Ugly Sunday, and I liked it, but I don't think that one was my
favorite, of the ones that I heard.
I am still looking for more on youtube. :)

I lost the other thread where we were talking about the OC, but there is a
song that I like from the series, and I dont know who sings it, I think the
name is "under the tracks". But not sure either. Do you know what I am
talking about?

I could find for the song...Under the Tracks is a Coldplay song
though!

Yeah, the title is usually a cause for argument with a lot of music
elitists. I've always seen it referred to as WDYSLN,but versions just
as old can be found with the name 'In the Pines'.
This is the first time I've heard the bluegrass version. I like the
folksy versions better....this is ok though. It would be great without
the whiny twang they actually seem to make their voices do.
