I love the bad weather too. Most people only seem to appreciate the weather
when it's sunny and warm. But I find beautiful also the rainy days, the
gloomy days, and the storms, the wind, and even the snow it is so beautiful.

Yeah, it is as long as you're looking at it through a pane of glass.
It's when you have to be out -in- it that it becomes somewhat less

True dat. But I still prefer the pleasure of not having to be out in
it in the first place. I guess I've just spent too many days of my
life setting on a horse chasing stray cattle in blowing snow and
dodging bullets in freezing rain (and hot, monsoon rain) for nasty
weather to be too terribly attractive <g>

Me and Dug! go for long walks in the wood in every kind of weather and I
like them all in their way. What pisses me off is when one particular
weather condition last too long and you get bored of it.

As my old mother used to say when I was a kid :

"A change is as good as a rest"

( I never understood that either but she is from the highlands :) )

I live in the Highlands... Deer Park... Shady Lane.

It's not very high, there are no deer, and there's more wankers than trees

I'm from Allentown Pa but don't live there now. I lived 23 years
in Los Angeles. I saw a few angels there. I met a few people in
Allentown named Allen, but that's a common name, first and last. I
live now in Winston Salem NC where a lot of people smoke winston and
salem cigarets because this is where they started. I always thought
Allentown was a creepy sounding name. When was the last time an
entire city in the USA was renamed? I guess that's the next step for
politicians. Change the name of the town to give it hope. They do
that shit here in Winston in the poor areas, give streets names like
New Hope or Tomorrow.

I enjoyed that post. I grew up in PA too. On the other side, Erie.
I never went through Erie because it didn't lead to anyplace I was
going. I knew a few guys from there. I call it the great lakes
area. I'm pretty good at guessing by people's accents where they're
from. But sometimes I'm off. I might think a guy's from Chicago, but
he's from Detroit. So now, instead of guessing the actual city or
state, I'll say, "Uh, the great lakes area." That's close enough.

One time down here I had a guy in the cab. I had been talking for
a time when he interupts me in mid-sentence and says, "Where you
from?" I told him Pennsylvania. He says, all excited, "I knew it, I
knew it." I said, "You mean you knew I was from Pennsyvlania?", and
he says, "Well, I knew you wasn't from round here." ... And he
wasn't trying to be funny. Or maybe he was and I just didn't know it.

Just dawned on me, maybe that's why underwear are sometimes
called briefs. I can see how it happened. A mother changed her kid's
diapers as the father looked on and said, "Isn't it nice to be rid of
that smell?", to which she replied, "Briefly". I think maybe that's
where the term brief came to be used for underwear.

I haven't seen snow, rain or clouds for a long time. I miss feeling
cold. I often fill my tub up with ice while I'm inside of it naked,
just to remind myself what being cold feels like and if I ever get
murdered what being stretched out naked on that shelf that slides into
the fridge at the morgue will feel like as well.

When I do see weather, it almost always causes the local television
news to create 'Storm Watch' for Los Angeles as we get 1/4" of light
foggy type of mist that a New England city would call a wicked nice
day.

We have a very crispy looking local meteorologist here that likes to
play it up too and he does it very well. Nobody can make a mountain
out of molehill like this guy. Now if we have weather before 10:00 in
the morning in Los Angeles, there's a weather girl on another channel
that is too funny and so real and between reporting weather she talks
about fashion, reads magazines, eats, drinks and texts on air; she's
almost and I reiterate almost getting a little too crispy, but the
dark purple eyeshadow and 4 inch spiked heels with the 60's inspired
plunging neckline dresses at 7:30 in the morning rocks!

As a mommy of many, for those mommies who are at work outside of the
home, fully clothed and wearing makeup at 7:30 in the morning have my
respect...

it was gloomy this morning here... clouds... lots of clouds.

It's better bad weather than no weather at all.
yes, I hate when the Weather Channel forcast is: no weather today.
That is never good.
I love the bad weather too. Most people only seem to appreciate the
weather when it's sunny and warm. But I find beautiful also the rainy
days, the gloomy days, and the storms, the wind, and even the snow it
is so beautiful.
It is, when you see it on your television, half way on the other side of
the earth that is.
Yeah...I hate clearinf off my car, trudging through slush...New England
sucks weather wise.

That was funny. I wonder what sort of reaction we'd get if all
the weather channels in the USA gave the same report: "It's hard to
say what's going on out there. Some weird stuff on the radar. Stuff
we've never seen before. We've got our top experts working on it.
Please stick with us."
